Training and Covid-19 risk factors

This month, 40 people attended our event which explored how we can return to training in this Covid-19 environment, with representatives from the UK, US and the EU. Rigger and Greenpeace climb team leader Imogen Michel and Catherine Knowles, who is an Aerial Edge director and policy writer for health organisations, presented in-depth information on their areas of expertise.

We covered risk assessment concepts and protocols, including our example documentation including risk assessments and infection control policies.

The recording of the event is now available in the membership area of the website, and the documents can be downloaded too. Catherine has also written up her ‘7 Ds guideline for Covid-19 infection risk assessment in training spaces’ which is now available to members. We’ll post it for public consumption once we’ve had some more feedback from our members, go check it out here.

This is a subject we will keep adding to over the next few months as further research and experience brings us new information. We have started a new topic in the Rigging and Circus Safety members forum to continue the discussion.

Factors of Safety Research Project

Since the Rigging Conference in May way have continued our discussions on the Slack forum into Factors of Safety to attempt to come to a common view and boil that down into some simple guidance. We have been making good progress with this and I hope to be able to release the draft document for review to members on the website in the near future.
